Big Bore

Here's the story. I went into the shop and they had a set of blued Leupold low QDW rings for $5 (sticker price was $60). Catch was, no screws, and one ring's lower half was broken. No biggie, I only needed one ring for mounting a laser so home they went. A few screws and I was in business.
Now, what do do with a broken lower half. I e-mailed Leupold about getting a replacement. The rings were supposed to be new but got broken somehow and the dealer did not want to bother returning them. However, it was obvious that some kind of thread locker had been used on the rings and maybe they had been a demo set and that was how they got broken, the dealer didn't know or wasn't talking. I told Leupold all this and mentioned I only paid $5 for the set and that if they would not fix it under warranty I completely understood and said I would like a replacement lower ring even if I had to pay for it. They e-mailed back and asked me to return the ring, but promised nothing.
That was a week ago and yesterday the mail came and Leupold decided not to just replace the ring and be done with me. What they did was send me a complete whole new set of two rings, no charge! :D Five dollars got me three 1 inch Leupold QDW low rings, now that is the best deal I have made in a loooonnnng time.
Burris, take note! Now THAT is customer service!
