I've had my Colt Peacemaker .22 for quite a while and I am now wondering what it is worth. It is in great shape and it is from 1976.
Can anyone help me with this. I'd be glad to give more info if it is needed.
Thanks

According to the Gun Traders Guide the Colt 22 SA Peacemaker is a six shot revolver that would handle both 22 LR/22 Mag. loads. This gun was manufactured form 1971 to 1976 and came in 4.38, 6, or 7.5" Bbl's. Your post does not mention condition of gun, barrel length, if you have both cylinders, origional box/papers etc. Therefore it would be impossible to assign anything more than an arbitrary value to this firearm. I can tell you however that gun values range from $369 (NIB) to $295 (Exc) to $201 (Gd). One other thought to keep in mind is that regardless of which guide you use any guns value is subject to market demand and the individual buyer. Hope this info will at least get you started in the right direction.

I thank you for your response.
The gun has a 6" Bbl., it is from 1976, I do have both cylinders and the Mag one has never been used. I don't have the original box and papers. It's in good shape.

Then I would base the guns value at roughly $201. Some folks would indicate that there would be a $15.00 deduction for box/paperwork and that would bring price to $186. It is a Colt however so if you were incllined to sell it I would ask a premium price around $240 and negotiate down from there.

Is it marked "Peacemaker"? I had a 22 convertible about that same time, it was called the "New Frontier Model", and it was a great gun. In 22 LR it was a fair shooter, but in 22 Mag it was absolutely amazing, 3/4" groups at 25 yards with the then-new 50-grain HP load. Wish I had mine back, a crafty old sergeant of mine talked me out of it. The Eliason rear sight was a big help in accurate shooting, the best adjustable sight I ever used. Enjoy that gun, mine got cranky if it wasn't shot every week or two! Or was that me that got cranky?
