Hi Guys,
I'm new here. A shooter can sure spend a lot of time on this site and not read it all. Very, Very informative.
Does anyone have experience loading West Coast Copper Plated bullets? Specifically, I load them as plinkers and paper cutters and shoot the same loads out of a Mod 94 357 Mag. Trapper with iron sights and a Ruger Vaquero 357 Mag.
I've used 2400, H110, Blue Dot, Unique and IMR 800X powders and loaded about 1700 rounds of 158 grain and 125 grain bullets in the past two years. I think I've tried about every load there is in the above powders. The IMR800X using 8.0 grains pushing the 158 grain CPFP seems to be the best, consistant load I can come up with. It's a mild load and easy shooting.
West Coast has a manufacturing facility in Carson Cit, NV. near where I live and I buy the bullets direct from them. They recommend not loading them faster than 1500 fps. I'm quessing the 8.0 grains of IMR 800X is pushing them about 1300/1400 fps.
Thanks in advance,
Macal
