OK folks, since I have never done any reloading for the auto loaders, how well does the tumble lube bullets work in the autos, how does the bullet seat on the small lube grooves?
Looking at the 200 grain tl, for a .45acp
Looking for answers before I put any money on the table.
thanks John

I use this same bullet design, only in the traditional design that is lubed in a lubrisizer. Works great in my autos, and also in my Ruger Blackhawk .45 convertible.

Works great. I have the 230 RN version and was surprised at the accuracy. I also use the same bullet for my 45 Colt Blackhawk and get excellent accuracy in that gun too. Now that I've used the tumble lubed bullets, I am not sure I will cast traditional bullets for low velocity loads again. The tumble lube bullets work great and does not take a lot of time to produce.

I've been casting Lee bullets for a long time now. I have a 44 mag and use a gas check 255 grain Kieth style with the normal lube grooves. I tumble lube them and they shoot great and do not lead the bore. I just got a 41 mag and bought Lee's 210 gr. tumble lube bullet. I've only put a hundred and fifty thru so far. Accuracy is excellent and no leading with a hardcast bullet. I do not size these, just shoot as cast. Right now in the light weight taurus I getting two inch groups at 25 yards.
I would reccomend the tumble lube bullets as a good choice.

John...
I've been shooting the TL452-230-2R out of my 1991-A1 and my pistol loves the bullet. It is extremely accurate. I have a couple of pounds of Unique that I'm trying to use up and 5-grains gives me 660 FPS. Good enough for thumping things around the ranch house!

I have a .452 Lee Sizer but I don't think I even bothered with this step on the last 300 or so that I cast. I cast with the 90/10 wheelweights/tin that Lee recommends and get a 230-grain bullet. I tumble them once and load them up and don't bother to clean the nose of the bullet.

My regular practice any more is to lube/size my bullets then tumble lube them too. I get absolutly no leading in my bores. I have loaded my 45-70 to the point of pain and still get no leading. Lee Liquid Alox is good stuff.
