Oh, well before I traded the Marlin 1894 in 44 rem mag. I shot it again. With the Leupold VXI 1 x 6 scope and white box 250 grain softpoints it still shoots into about 3 inches at 100 yards with the power set on 2X. I guess the devil you know VS the devil you do not. I just cannot trade it for the old 336 in 35 remington I was looking at.Jimmyp

Sounds like a great spot to be in to start that Marlin collection. Keep that CB and spring for the older 336. The CB will only increase in value and provide you will lots of experience in load developement. The ol'35 will fill your freezer.
