Had been seeing hog tracks up at the club for several months. The other day I was up doing some ATV'in and came across a good size set going up a sandy road the leeds to the center of the club(2640 acres). I went back two days later and set up where they come in and out of a deep, thick, black mud bottom. I had planned to shoot a 35-50 pounder but when they came up there was 6 or 7,3 of which were BIGGUNS. I had chose to bring my Beretta CX4 Storm(for the smaller hogs),but after seeing that there were 3 larger ones I chose to target one of them. I put the red dot from my TRU-GLO sight just forward of one of the big ones shoulder and sent one her way. I was shooting Hornady 230gr. XPT's(#9096) and it seemed to take forever for the bullet to arrive. I figured that it's only going 1050fps out of the 16" bbl. I could hear it slap the skin when it finally arrived. All the hogs were off like a shot. I waited for 40 minutes then walked over to where she was standing and found some blood. The tall ferns made the tracking easy and I found her 40yds.from where she was hit. She only fell down once and that's where she died. She weighted 210-220 lbs and was so long/big that we had to cut all four feet and the head off, then cut her in half to make her fit into a 180qt. and a 150qt. saltwater fishing cooler. We had some of the sausage a couple of nights ago and tonight we has some tenderloin and she's a great eatin' animal. I can't see why people would rather hunt deer than hog. Hogs eat sooooooo much better IMHO.----pruhdlr
