Help ! Im surrounded by arseholes (excuse my French but im real mad

Currently on our little Island we are facing a MASSIVE rise in hand gun crime, (they banned them in 1996) but guess what ?? The criminals are obeying the law :p

We can expect extra restrictions on reloading componants and there are lots of call for a COMPLETE ban on air rifles :eek: due to misuse by thugs :(

This morning on TV a bunch of Doctors want the government to BAN (yes there that word again) Chef's knives :mad: they dont want us to have long knives with sharp points as there are often used in fatel stabbings. They say Chef's have told them there is no need for such knives :mad: They want us to have 2.5" blades and or rounded ends with those cheap blunt surrated edges .................... Im so furious :mad:

What next ? pointy stick's ? Why not ban screw drivers too they would be ideal for deep penatrating wounds !!

Oh :eek: better ban pens and pencils you could have someones eye out :p you may laugh at that last comment im not ........ given the chance they will have us all writting with lovely blunt chalk :p

It's a good thing they took all the guns away, when people are oppressed by their government history shows they have a tendency to use firearms to correct the situation.

"Gun control" is about one thing, and it isn't guns. That's why once the banning of weapons gains momentum, it won't stop until enough people have had enough of it. I feel for you, Englander. Stupid politicians with too much control are much more dangerous than any firearm every could be.

Pocket knives and hat pins are banned for carry outside the homes in the UK.

Sort of like Boston where the baseball bat is a weapon of choice. We tend to forget firearms have been confiscated in New York, D.C. and Kalifornia. The only answer is to vote every time the polls are open - or as Tip 'ONeal used to say - "Vote Early and Vote Often!"

People who have unfounded fears related to inanimate objects typically aren't big on common sense or rational thought.

If the fact was that anyone was interested in the good of the society, they would repeal the inane laws and apologize to the people of the country for the de facto seizure of their property and endangering their lives.

Aren't these doctors guilty of treating the symptom (stabbings) with the disease (social breakdown)?

That is one of the Best and funniest things i've ever heard.

Things sure have gone downhill post-empire...thing is, some of the laws are what you'd expect from some Draconian dictatorship.

Guess that's the GOOD thing about dictators, once they die, the validity of their more stupid laws dies with them.

Maybe instead of watching TV, a research trip to the archives is in order. Maybe when that doctor is confronted with the number of patients that have died under "practicing" phyisicans and the liberal prescribing of "miracle" drugs, he may leave the cook alone. Or maybe he just needs to give help a raise.

I would hope you include Americans in that statement, as things are no different here...just have not progressed as far. The sad fact is that there isn't much to be done about it because the majority of Americans are apathetic about the decline in personal liberties. We have a one party in control of all elected branches of the federal government and I don't see the downward spiral to socialism doing anything but speeding up, maybe not as fast as it could be, but certainly not slowing down...and these guys are supposed to be opposed to it. I try to look at things on the bright side, but the state of affairs here is certainly in decline.

Just my opinion. Hope I haven't crossed the political topic line here.

Might be time to bring this topic to a close - it has drifted away from anything even remotely resembling hunting or firearms, and has become a truely political discussion.
