I have a Ted Williams Model 100 30-30 that is in nice shape. I know that winchester built this for Sears. What is it worth and will it ever gain in value. I am thinking of selling it to finance another model 94 30-30. The gun looks different that the other 2 94's that I own. What is a breif history behind the TW line of guns??

During the Olin Corp. management years at Winchester, the entire rifle line up was cheapened. Still good shooters but the quality simply faded in favor of stock holder dividends.
The Ted Williams line suffered the same fate. Sears simply wanted a cheaper wholesale price and Olin cut corners in order to deliver the goods. Plain and simple business deal.
If you enjoy your TW 30-30 by all means keep it and good hunting to you. If you don't enjoy it, trade for a new 94 where the quality has returned. Your judgement call.

Two local shops have used Ted Williams levers in stock at the moment. They are inexpensive, both in the $200 range. Both rifles have been there a while. They have blue steel end caps on the fore arm, but I think inside they are pre "64 Winchesters with no collector interest.
I'd see how it shoots, probably keep it.
