Has anyone been around these scopes? Seems like everybody and his dog are making scopes these days.

I can almost remember when the scope to have was a Lyman Alascan 2.5X or a Weaver K2.5.

I have a Millet 4X32 Buck Silver Compact that I bought for less than $70. I have been extremely happy with it. It holds zero perfectly. The click adjustments are fair and the optics are reasonably clear. I do notice I can see alot of the black insides of the scope tube even when the eye relief is just perfect.

Not that I have tons of experience with scopes but this one was the best value for the money that I've ever purchased. I would definitely recommend them.

How big of a rifle is it on? I'm looking for something to put on my 300 RUM that I won't have to take out a second mortgage to buy.

I'v got a couple BSA's on my big 22's that don't work to bad.

recoil junky, stay away from the millett, I put one a 6.5x24x50 on a 300 rum, the 21st shot laid the glass down inside it, it made a really neat caleidascope, all kinds of really neat colors inside, of course less than 2 weeks before opening day of deer season. Not much help from Millet either. But Graff made it right with me.
hope this helps, Halfbreed

I've not used their scopes, but I do like their mounts. I used to use nothing but Leapold, but they have just about priced themselves out of my ability to pay. A couple of years ago I put a Simmons 2.8 to 10 ATEC on my Remington 8mm Mag. It was sharp and clear and had a 44 foot field of view at a hundred yards.

I was worried about the heavy recoil of this big magnum, but, it has had about 300 rounds thru it and no problems. This is one of the brightest scopes I've ever had and the adjustments are nice and easy. I paid $160 for it at Walmart.

I guess Simmons and Redding are now under one name and have some new scopes coming out. I've see the ATEC for as low as $130 at Midway.

A few years ago before I retired I was driving truck and got the chance to stop at the Cabelas store in Sidney NB often. I spent some time looking thru scopes at their store. I found that the ATEC was as bright and clear as scopes costing three and four times as much.

Anyway it works for me.

Thanks for the info guys!

I think I'm gonna go with a Simmons. I transplanted the old Simmons off my 35 Whelen temporarily onto my 300 RUM and it seems to be holding up. I'm going to go drool at scopes on Midway's website. :D

hey faucettb where the heck is Peck? I got out laws in Twin Falls

My Millet is on a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington.

I've shot hundreds of rounds so far and it's held up wonderfully.

Well I didn't go with either of those brands, I went with a Cabela's Alaskan Guide 4.5-14X50. Lil' Chucky at work has one on a custom 700 in 8 mag and says it'll take a lickin' so I'm going to give it a try.

I'll give you all a report as soon as I get time to shoot it some.
