I am wanting to purchas a 44 Mag. rifle and I noticed that Wally World is selling them through special order for #359.00 which is cheaper then the Winchester Trapper in the same 44 Mag. I am not looking for a tradditional lever nessaserly because I have a Rossi in 45 LC, but I want a good rifle in 44 mag. that will take reloads and I just am unsure the Ruger 96/44 can do that with that rotery Mag. Does any one out there owne a Ruger 96/44 and if so, how do you like it? Thanks
Joe

dager, I traded for one at Tulsa gunshow in Feb. and started this thread: http://shootersforum.com/showthread.htm?t=19016
I've shot it some but not a whole lot, haven't had any problems with it and it seems to be a good shooter and easy to carry. The only ammo I've used is factory 240 grain so I'm no help on the reloads. Are you anywhere close to NW Arkansas? If you're close enough you're welcome to look it over and try some of your ammo in it. We might even try to work up a trade if'n you're interested. If you're close and want to check it out send me an e-mail at hdhawgr@centurytel.net and we'll see what we can do.
