Yes, another one. The name's Mike Tucker, I've been reloading for about 6 years. Nice site, lots of good info. Came across it while surfing for info on reloading BPI AQ slugs (never did find anything...rather typical of my websurfing!)
Anyway, mostly reload handgun cartridges for target shooting, only rifle I've reloaded is 30-06 (a grand ol' cartridge, IMHO). A buddy of mine wanted me to reload for his 35 Remington, gave me some 250 cases, nearly all had splits at the mouth, so I passed on that. But I digress. Just wanted to introduce myself & say Hi!

Welcome Mike. I think you will like the folks on this site, I know I sure do. Lots of knowledge and lots of sharing and no one jumps on you if you ask silly questions.

To bad about the 35 cases, had they been reloaded a bunch before? I've only owned one 30-06, shot a sheep in Alaska with it.

Been down the magnum road for a lot of years with a rem 8mm mag. Now that I'm getting older I just picked up a 280 Rem mountian rifle and one of the little short barreled Rem model seven's in 308.

Gonna park the 8 this year. Mostly deer hunt here in Idaho an even if I do run across an elk this fall I am shooting shorter distances because of eyes so will try the smaller calibre and be careful where I shoot.

I shot NRA large bore and small bore pistol for a lot of years and liked the steel targets too. Did a lot of handgun hunting when I was younger, still shoot a bunch of pistol with my son and grandbabies. Reloading and shooting will be a big part of my life til I can't do it anymore. I get the feeling that most folks on this forum are much the same way. Welcome again.

Welcome Mike,
There's a wealth of knowledge here, and a lot of old timers willing to share it. This is the most rounded firearms related site I've ever seen on the web. If you have a question someone here can answer it, or set you on the right track to get the answer.

Good folks here...glad to have you aboard.

Now I remember the4 BPI AQ slugs, but never have run into any loading data...am sure it's out there somehwere, but getting to it would proably be by the "stumble upon" method of web-surfing.

Welcome. Haven't seen much on BRI slugs recently.... if you need some real pounders, check out www.dixieslugs.com

Bob from Idaho:
No, new factory ammo. I advised him to have a gunsmith check it out. I don't know much about leverguns (it's a Marlin), but it doesn't seem right to me.
MikeG:
Don't need "pounders," looking to save money on 3 gun matches.
BTW, I think I'll start a new thread on the shotgun page before I get in trouble with the moderator :)

No problem... we tend to ramble here... anyway, feel free to start another thread, or continue.

For cheap slug shooting, do a search on the Lee key drive (?) slugs, I think there is some good information there. I've also seen some slug reloading information in the Lyman shotshell handbook.

Anyway there is also a forum on the Dixie Slugs web site, it would of course be very shotshell specific. Mr. James Gates, who runs that site, has considerable experience in the industry, primarly shotshells, and I'm sure he would have good advise - he may also pop up over here if he sees your questions.
