Well, the new job is in Casper Wyoming, a neat town , with what looks likes great fishing and hunting opportunities. Hopefully my house is gonna sell fairly quickly, have some people interested. In the meantime, gotta find a rental where I can have my 2 dogs, and then wait for my funds to come through for another house. I've learned so far that not much is available in rentals for folks with dogs. Hope I don't have to board them- that's pretty expensive too, and they're such great companions. Anybody had this problem ? Was also wondering about shooting ranges in this area, and would like to get into trapshooting, now that I finally got a real "day" job. Looks like they got a real nice big sporting goods/gun store. Will probably check there first, and get some info. I'd appreciate any good shootin info from folks who live in this area.

Well, you're in for a treat. Spend every Memorial Day weekend in Buffalo, WY, up I25 an hour. One of our deer hunting guys moved to Casper for about a year. Unhappy ending--cheatin' wife, etc. so he came back to Chicago. Shooting ranges. Have to laugh. Everywhere! Make friends with a rancher who has prairie dogs and some work to do and you'll be welcome anytime. In Buffalo, or on the web, try www.sportslure.com which also has links to lots of official WY sites for fish and game, etc.

bearmgc ,

There is a huge gun range just to the West of Casper. I believe it's called Stuckenhoff Sport Shooting Complex or something similar to that. They have ranges out to 1,000 yards I believe.

I've been trying to get out of IL and to Casper for about 3 years now. Nothing has gelled yet. What industry are you in and how did you manage to get your job there? If you don't mind me asking.

I don't mind your asking. I'm in Healthcare Management. I went with professional headhunters. Cold calls weren't working for me. Wow, a 1000yd range is as good as it gets! J Miller what kind of employment are you looking for? I could let you know if I hear of something in your line of work.

Most of what I have done is light delivery work. But I'll be willing to try most anything that will train me, and that doesn't require a lot of physical exertion.

Thanks for the offer. Really.
