Hi all,
I had a nice load worked out for my 7mm-08 , using Hornady 139 gr SST bullets. The seating depth was measured and a reading was taken from the Redding seating die (the one with the micro adjustment)
I subsequently bought 2 new packets of SST bullets and loaded some for a trip. They wouldnt even fit into the magazine (a remington 700 bdl dm)
The micrometer setting was the same. so my thought was that the ogive had changed on the bullet for whatever reason, because the redding seating die seats the bullet via a collet inside a sleeve and if the bullets were tapering more, the bullets would be seated out further.. ??
Has anyone else noticed this?
Oh well on the up side, it does mean more shooting time on the range :-)

Hmm  That's a good question. I use SST's in my 300 RUM. I know there is a difference between the SST's and the Interlocks.

Hopefully somebody will come along and give us both info we need.

There is a post about this over on 24hr campfire. Apparently it is not uncommon for bullets to be changed. It's in the "ask the gunwriters" forum. Barsnes has a bit to say about it that is interesting.
