I like what I have seen so far!
Dealer is a couple of hours away though.
Anyone have a good handle on the prices of these? I'd like to have some idea before I drive out! Especially like the .223 Laminate rifle, but hope they give some significant price reduction.
thanks everyone!

Hay Mr. Catfish
Check out this site, his prices are really good. I have a 452 22 long rifle and I really love it. I'm looking at getting one of the 527's in 204 ruger. I have looked at a couple and am impressed.

Walmart recently started selling CZ USA guns. You might look into it, their pricing is better than a gun shop.
A couple of months back I bought a CZ 550 FS (Full Stock) made in the Czech Republic. I couldn't pick up the front sight worth a darn and put a scope on it. I will also refinish the stock this winter. One of the other forum members explained the finish they use has a deep brown color and it masks the figure in the wood. That's gotta go. I like the metal work but won't have opportunity to shoot it again for about 6 weeks to see how the scope is working out.

Howdy;
Cz 527`s keep multiplyin in my cabinet, !st was a .204 American, A real keeper light weight& accurate, 2nd was .223 American same as the 204, and I know NOT the last but the latest .221 Rem. Fireball which is great with factory ammo, so now we are rollin loads, & Playin. So far no complaints, & I think they are excellent shooters & lookers. The lips on the clips have to be polished a little ,this makes the brass slide easier into the chamber. And thats my 2 cents.

Mr. Tontoski
Can you elaborate on your 221 Fireball? The more I look at that compact cartridge the more I want a gun chambered for it. I wrote CZ and asked them if they planned to offer the 221 in the Lux version and they steered me back to the 527 American. I think that meant - no. I like my 550 FS but it is a little rough around the edges compared to other guns I own.
I also had my eye on a 9.3 X 62 FS. My FS is chambered in 243 Winchester. I wish they did a better job finishing their stocks.

Don't ignore the savages, the are a great american made value and they flat out shoot. plus the accutrigger goes down to 1 1/2 pounds on the varminit rifles and they are safe at that weight (light triggers go a long way in aiding in accuracy) plus there is no stupid set trigger to fool with

Flashhole,
I`m sorry I didn`t get back to you earlier. But I love my CZ 221 Fireball American, & Of coarse its a new toy, but I did a bunch of trials & it loves 50 gr Sierras with h322, & gm205m primers. Was out last friday all day with 6 rifles playing at 100yds. , 5 cooling while shooting the 6 th. My old friend has one in the same caliber & model as mine , but both ours favor different brands of bullets in the same weight. It took a lot of different powder weights & primer combos to get my 3/8 " consistant grouping & I only tried 2 brands of powder & bullets.
I also have a 223 rem. & a 204 ruger in the CZ american models which moved into favorite light weight shooter positions, but they shot factory ammo excellent too. One of the great things about these rifles are the single set triggers, & if you do forget to use them you waste lead. Mixing these with other brands while shooting trial loads really makes an old man think.
The money I spent for this rifle, brass, & dies was worth the enjoyment of shooting & loading, even if I am a little poorer at the end of the month.

Guys, I'm in Ohio. We're moving from FL to OH and the process is painful. All our belongings are in storage.
I'm at the hotel computer trying to catch up on a few things. I appreciate the input. I've been in Ohio for 9 days and I have already taken in a gun show. The Dayton gun show is much better than the show in Melbourne, FL and it appears there are some honest traders here. In Melbourne everyone was looking to retire off one sale.
I saw a nice CZ 550 in 6.5X55 new in the box for $475. I resisted the temptation because Ohio doesn't allow use of center fire rifles for deer. I need to focus on a couple of rifled slug barrels for my shotguns.
I may still try and pick up a 221 Fireball. It turns out you can shoot crow and ground hogs (a legal season) with a centerfire rifle but not deer......go figure.
I'm back in bird country and am trying to network with some local farmers to hunt pheasant and quail.
Anyone in the Dayton/Xenia/Cinn area?

all the quail are gone in my part of the piedmont, North Carolina. Joining Quail Unlimited so that aren't gone forever everywhere in my home state. I have stopped hunting all together to focus on endangered game in our area. Y'all please help those of us who are trying to keep a balanced game selection in all areas of our nation
Thank all of you very very much\

We have odd things going on in Missouri.....the state decided to stock the national parks with turkeys and dove a few years back....now the quail are all gone...starting to come back in a few rural areas but the situation is sad....
for deer.....public land is in penny packets..a sea of orange hats and Rv with St Louis tags and the laws in the state make it possible for "guests" to sue thier hosts if they turn an ankle on your property while hunting. That and junk hunters from St Louis have caused land owners to close ther land to hunters and now the private land is overrun with deer. The legal limit for a deer tag is one per year! One can buy a bonus tag but......many counties close out permits early so if you are not in line you may not be able to legally hunt on your own land unless you are a major landowner with 75 or more acres!
I just guit hunting deer....decided to travel for prairie dogs instead....now the Sierra club is making an issue of that too....grrrrrr

Even here in Idaho where we have loads of public land more and more private property is being closed. Mostly because inconsiderate folks don't bother asking before they hunt, jerks leave gates open so cattle and horses get out, they tear up roads with four wheel drives and leave garbege everywhere. It only takes a couple of jerks to mess up.
I hunt elk on public land and deer up above my house on private land. I've got two or three places where I have hunted and killed deer for the last 40 plus years and one of those places was closed last fall because of poor sportsman. I think it's the wave of the future. Our folks whom want to hunt are loosing that ability by their own actions. Sad to say.
This is the kind of deer country I hunt
