Oh. So that's why my scale + powder trickler can be set to give readings in grams. :(

Is one of the most stolen items from science labs...doubt they are all reloaders.

Will work for relaoding....have an adversion to toatal reliance on anything elctronic, so would keep a mechanical scale some place slose at hand.

I haven't found a digital scale for less than $150 yet that was worth much. I have tried cheap PACTS, RCBS and Dillon. The Dillon D-Terminator was far and away the best and cost around $150. The cheaper ones require constant calibration, are not always repeatable and take lots of time getting a set weight....not worth the trouble.

Weighing powder charges on a twenty dollar digital scale to reload cartridges then firing these cartridges in a $1000 or more firearm? If anyone is doing this please let us know what kind of accuracy and velocities you're getting. Until then, I think I'll continue using the digital scale that I bought from a reloading company. :rolleyes:

The one I got is ok if you want to weigh your cast bullets and other items where you do not need to know the weight to the tenth of a grain.
My scale only weighs in whole grains, if something weighs 10.6 or 10.9 gr it will say it weighs 10 gr.
For weighing powder I stick to a balance type scale.

mgrace,thanks for the info.A 'whole grain' scale would be pretty useless then.
