I have been thinking of getting a new scope for my marlin 60. I currently have a $16 2-7x20, wallyworld cheapo (BSA??) on it but was thinking of upgrading to a 3-9x32 (or 40?). I was curious as to what everyone uses for a rimfire rifle. I am thinking of spending $50 or so. I realize I won't be getting a Leupold or Kahles or Swarovski, but for my plinking/varminting fun I don't need anything that expensive, I'll save those for my centerfires. Though it might be pretty neat to have a $1700 scope on a $70 rifle :D

The Cabelas Pine ridge series are alot of glass for the money.

I got a 2-7 shotgun scope in the bargin cave. I have it mounted on an old .22, and think it works great.

Good luck

I picked up a Nikon Prostaff 4X32 from an Ebay store for under $100 (around $80 I think). It was a marked improvement over the $40 Tasco 3-9 I had on it before.

I tried a Bushnell 3-9x32 scope on my 22, and it got returned the next day. The mounts bundled with most rimfire scopes make a bad scope worse. At least the ones bundled with the Nikon were decent.

I have 2, BSA .22 specials,3*9*32mm one on a 1000 fps air rifle, and the other on a Marlin 60. Both perform excellent. Available at Sportsmans Guide for about $30.00 with rings.
