Anyone out there know the details of this action (the old Mark X with several new changes) well enough to be able to answer detailed techncial questions about its design? Like...

- Does decock include firing-pin safety (lug shoulders)?
- Does commercial safety function like military (i.e. it can only be moved to "safe" after having been cocked)?
- Does the (2P) trigger safety lock the bolt or not?
- Within what tolerance levels are the front and rear guard screws aligned?
- How are actions (trigger-guard, magazine, follower, receiver loading-port, etc.) sized for different COL sizes?
- Is there a recoil crossbolt?
- Does the ejector have an elongated pivot hole?
- Does it have one or more locking screws?

They have a website at www.charlesdaly.com and should be able to respond to those technical questions. All the best...

Thanks, Gil. I've downloaded all the tech data from their site and spoken to two of their customer service reps. Unfortunately, these questions - and a couple more - remain unanswered. I have a call in to one of their engineers who was just over at the Zastava plant, and hopefully that'll go somewhere. I was hoping that one of the many wise folks who frequent this forum might have a high level of familiarity with either the old Mark X action or the newer version Zastava is building for Charles Daly to import.

Sorry. Didn't realize that was bad manners.

Been looking at these actions online. Emailed their tech support to find out if the 375 H&H is the same action length as the standard large ring. Got a two word reply, "the same" Now I have an email into Boyd's to see of their JRS VIP mauser stock will fit the Daly large ring action, thus allowing me to build a stainless .375 from it, with a Boyd's laminate stock. I'll do some work in the barrel channel, but would want the rest of the inletting to be 99% done.

Anyone seen any of the actions or barrelled actions out yet, website says July 05 delivery.

I have a CD long action in blue that I picked up at Ace Hardware that I put a Hart barrel on the action fit well in a Bell & Carlson stock. I have been trying to get a stainless 375 length action for a while but can't seem to get one yet. The arrival dates their web sight says do not seem to always be what they say.

Jim - I talked to them last week and they ought to have firm dates on their SS actions/etc. now. They just sent some folks over to Zastava and they're back now... I'm gonna be calling them in a couple of days to follow up on some detailed action-design questions and to see whether or not they've dealt with what seems to be some problems with inconsistent manufacturing quality.
