Greetings,
After one week of being away from the Forum, I had a new grandson born last Thursday. It will be great to spend the next 15 years with two little grandboys. I will make sure that in my limited way, the future of hunting will be assured!

I set up an opening day and opening week-end dove hunt on a ranch in Jack County that I have been associated with for the past five years.

Five years ago, they decided to lease their 16,000 acre ranch and do all they could to improve the wildlife habitat. Well,
www.richardsranch.com received the land management award last year from the state of Texas for their overall achievements.

To do this, they have had to harvest over 300 does in the last three years, supplemental feed year around and bring the deer per acre from 1 in 10 acres to 1 in 22 acres. The results is big deer with big racks.
I am hard to impress, but I was impressed! Management does work.

Anyway, I and some friends are leasing a 100 acre field on this ranch the first week of dove season and need some hunters. They farm for dove and the fields are full of maze, croten, and sunflower.
I only bring it up for some hunters in the area who might be on the forum and looking for a hunt. I have been on some dove hunts that haven't panned out, but this won't be one of them.

Anyone interested can PM me. And you can go to their website for more information.

My only interest is getting a good group of guys together for a nice hunt.

MikeG, I didn't know where to put this thread, you can move it around if need be.

Here's to the next generation!!!

Wife doesn't allow me to hunt dove, as that's the state song (?) bird of her home state. Usually tell her I'm just going along to keep the snakes off the rest of the guys - (heh, heh, heh)!

Congrats, Tom - hope the daughter and new grandson are doing well. As you know, I don't think much of the one towhead I've got!! :D

Need to give you a call. Since missing out on the draws here, think we SERIOUSLY need to discuss an antelope hunt!
