On a reccent trip to the Cabela's store in sydney nebraska my father bought me an old Western Field 12ga shotgun. The gun is rusty but appears in good shape despite the obvious neglect, it was bought as a gunsmithing project. Through research I've learned that this particular modle of western field is actually the Noble modle 50. I have heard some information that indicates that this shotgun is similar to the mossberg 500, and the S&W 916. I would like to know which of these shotguns the noble is actually based on, or if it was another that I haven't found. I would also like to know where I might find schematics and parts and accessories for this shotgun.

Noble went out of business MANY years ago and the only similarity that I am aware of is that they are all shotguns. The Noble was a fairly well made economical shotgun for its day, but had the inherent weakness of one action bar. Haven't worked on many, but if memory serves me well there is alittle spring that is subject to popping out of the trigger group when disassembling. Parts are kinda hard to come by too. Here endeth the lesson.

Forgot to say the only parts source I happen to know of is Gun Parts Corp, tho there may be others.
