Which Marlin would get the job done on hogs and bear out to 250 yards?

Marlin Model 7 in 30-06.

Well I guess I should have said lever action. I was leaning towards the .35 rem

El Lobo, thinking back aren't you a big .35 rem fan, do you have anymore wisdom to share on this caliber?

Seriously, if you want to shoot big things that far away and still have some pretty good thump, I'd stick with the 444/.45-70/.450.  Just personal opinion.

At those ranges I would pass on the lever and go with a .308 (or greater) in a scoped bolt action. But hey... that's me.
