Several years ago my wife bought me one for a Beretta 92, after much whining on my part. Won one at an NRA banquet for my Springfield Ultra Compact. Needless to say I am a fan of them.

Just put a set on the wifes mod 60 for her birthday. She loves them! I am very impressed as well and am thinking they are the way to go.

Hey Guys,
With aging eyes, I need to do something with the sights on my 1911. I can still shoot decent groups, but there's no way I can be quick on the target. I was shown a micro reflex sight, but have reservations ..... when you remove the cover, the sight is 'on'...... I'm thinking a loose cover drains my battery, and I'm up a creek without a paddle.

el Lobo,
According to the Crimsin trace sight their sights have an on/off switch. I haven't tried a set yet myself I need to save up a few bucks to get a set for my CCW gun.

`FYI, there is also a company called Lasermax that has a laser that replaces your internal guide rod and spring with a setup containing a pulsating laser. The laser emits from below the barrel whereas Crimson Trace does from the side per the picture on their website.
Personally, I don't know which is better as I don't have experience with either; I am just putting the info out there for your use.

I did notice in a price comparision of a Beretta 92 (only because I have one) Crimson Trace was $399 and Laser Max was $329. This is the MSRP and one could probably get it cheaper at a retail store.

I like lasermax's sight for the Glock. I have a Glock 17. Crimson Trace has laser sights that I can use for a couple of revolvers I have.
I do like the idea for a laser sight for a tactical shotgun. I have a mossberg Tactical shotgun. I'm going to ask lasermax if they are planning one for the mossberg.

Hey Guys,
If you go to the inside front cover of the May 2005 issue of "The American Rifleman", Crimson Trace has an ad for NRA members only. S&W J-frame model $269, and Colt 1911 model $296.

I've been issued a set of CT for both my issued M9 Beretta and M1911. Liked them enough I've bought my own for my M1911. They are great teaching aids when instructing new shooters so they can see how to maintain proper sight alignment during the trigger pull (big help when using DA). They help you to sight your handgun on target when firing from odd positions and watching other areas (like driving and hitting a target). In rooms and other less bright areas they get you on target quickley.

The Crimson Trace DO have an On-Off switch so that you can turn the lazer off completely and have no chance of it coming on. (no battery wear) As far as the 'Trigger' switch, you don't even feel it when picking up the gun. These are really nice lazers and the brightest I've ever seen. Another nice thing is, you don't have to buy new leather. It's hard to tell that you have a lazer on the gun if the switch is off. On the wifes 357, after it was sighted in, we've not had to touch a thing. It's held it's zero with hundreds of rounds so far.
Another point, the NRA Crimson Trace really are no deal. The regular ones were alot cheaper.
