Do any of you know of someone who is making a rifle in the new 5.7 x 28mm? This is being factory loaded with V max...and is launching out of the pistols at about 2300 fps! It would make a really nice crow rifle...

For crows? .22 mag HP in the right rifle wil go to 200+ meters! I use CCI HP in a Browning A-bolt, no problem! JP

While not exactly what I would take crow hunting the PS90 (http://www.impactguns.com/store/fn_p90.html) should fill the bill in 5.7 x 28mm.

Once the ammo actually becomes available I bet TC will start chambering a barrel for it and I also bet you can get many of the custom TC barrel makers to do it now. You know, the 5.7 is really not anything new. The .221 Rem. Fireball has been around for decades, is about the same size, and every bit as fast, maybe even faster.

the .221 case is bigger than the 5.7x28. If youd like I'll take a side by side comparison pic.

True, but not by much. In a rifle what would that matter?
Unless he is wanting a rifle in a companion caliber for a pistol I can see no advantage of going with the 5.7 x 28 over the .221 or even the .222 for that matter. The .221 makes an excellent 200 to 250 yard groundhog/crow firearm. Brass is easily formed from .222, and you don't have to worry about supply problems like you do the 5.7 if the antis get their way.

The 5.7x28, dont have as much energy as a .221 I dont believe. Id rather have the .221 as you said. I wasnt arguing with you, just saying Id take a pic if ya wanted.

I'd like to see a side-by-side comparison pic of the 5.7x28 and 22 Hornet and 223 remington.
