Hello Everyone :D

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Lyman Spartan-T 6 rleoading press. Just wondering if it was a good reloading press. I have the chance to purchase a like new one for $25. Thanks for the input

Have to look it up to be sure, memeory is fickle and I wanted to be sure it wasn't the old-old Lyman that took the off standard sized dies and shell holders (the Trueline)... but the Spartan T 6 is a 6 holed turret press and is designed to take the modern made dies and shell holders.

Given taht it's not be abused, seems like a reasonably good price...have seen them being offered used for about $40 to $50 at gun shows...less for a nasty looking rusty one. Guess the key is that the turret part is stable and solid...any wobble there and you'll off center the dies to the shell holder.

Can set it up to run two 3-die sets or three 2- die sets. Gets a little ticklish with 4-die sets (handgun rounds with seperate taper crimp dies).

Been using one since 1966, and can say one thing in their favor, and that it is a sturdy press and easy to operate. In 1988 I broke the handle while swaging some 30-30 cases to 25-36 Marlin. Lyman sent a new handle, at no charge. Heavy cast steel press with a strong mount for the Turret. A little TLC, and it will last a lifetime. I use mine mostly for forming out of production cases now.

I"ve only seen pictures of them but for that price in excellent shape I'd grab it in a heartbeat.
