New to the forum guys, but I have nowhere else to turn. I have searched online and just cant find anything out about this weapon.

My grandfather recently passed away, and I am the oldest grandson. In his inheretance, I recived a Colt .45 Government Model, with a Nickle/Silver/Chrome (I Dont know) Slide, same type trigger and hammer, but the body of the weapon is blackend like an M16. The handles (maybe custom?) are a dark blue pearl/marble looking material. The serial number starts with TG (if that helps, cant remember the whole thing off the top of my head).

Can someone tell me anything about this weapon? I have a few handguns, such as a Springfield XD, Glock 22, S&W .44 Mag, Rossi .38 special, and a Walther P22, and I love handguns, but nothing in my small collection like a Colt 1911.

Is this just another handgun? or does it have some history that I dont know about because it was my grandfathers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It's sounds like a customized gun. The experts in this subject hang out at the 1911Forum. I'm afraid I can't tell you any more.
