Just wondering if these are left handed friendly as I'm a left handed shooter and considering a future gun buy.

Except for the loading gate on the right side, older model 1894s are about as even handed as you can get. Hammer, trigger, and ejection are straight down the middle. Angle ejects might not be as sinister friendly.
I'm as lefty as you can get and have no trouble with any of my levers- Win or Marlin.

Your older Winchesters are even better because they eject the shells straight up. I believe that the new ones are angle eject (to the right side).

i also am a lefty, my winchesters offer no problems.
but watch out for the m1 garands, you will know why they wear helmuts.

I love my leverguns for the reason that I'm a Portsider! & Yeah I learnt about the M1 spiting clips the hard way ;)
