A few month back I read a short article in a gun magazine about a low recoil, and I think low penetrating 12 ga shell that was promoted for home defense. The shell was about half the lenght of a normal shell. I can not find the article or remember who made the shell. Does anyone know where I can find the information on the shell or the article?

the short ones are proably Aguila brand...while the recoil a bit less, many pumps and semi-autos just won't handle them well.
Are some law enforcment type reduced vel. buckshot and slug loads in full length cases that trim a couple of hundred FPS off the load and do recoil noticably less...are still potent, but shot side-by-side with standard loads can tell which is which.
Are some British imported 2" and 2 1/2" shells loaded for the older 12ga. doubles that wre chambered in these rounds...those a loaded pretty lite (and some are low pressure).
Fiocchi makes some standard length 12ga. 7/8 oz. rounds marked as low recoil...and they are...but are usually found in #9 or #7 1/2 shot rather than defence oreiented pellets.
