I was wanting to know if any of you own a BFR in there 475/480 short cyl. model, barrel lenght isn't really important, or any of there other models. I wanted to know over all how well you like there gun and how good do you think there workmanship is as compared to FA. I really want a 475/480 in a wheel gun but have a hard time paying 1700+ for a FA. and I really don't see ruger making what I want . So I have just started looking at BFR and think they look very well made and much more to the liking of my wallet. But before I do anymore thinking about one, I would like to here from those of you that already shoot one of there pistol's and tell me what you like or don't like about them. Any help would be great thanks.

I havent shot one but have examined and read alot about them. Everything I've heard has been very possitive. John taffin did a review of one one with a very possitive outcome. I understand your scepticism though Since MR isnt known for their rvolvers but rest assure their high quality guns.

I also do not own one. But, everything I have heard and scene about them is positive. That being said, I don't know if you should expect freedom arms quality considering you could buy two bfr's for one fa. Perhaps someone that has actually used one will post soon

There's a BFR article posted to my website if you're interested.....it pretty much covers the history, quality, and variants of the gun.
