Hey I am new here. I have two questions that I would like your opinion on. I am looking at buying a new semi shotgun. What do you think a browning gold or an 11-87? My next question is that I want it in a 3.5 inch model. Will I be able to shoot low brass 2 3/4 in shells, or will it have trouble ejecting them? Thank you.

I know that the Browning Gold, Beretta Extrema, and the carbon fibered Bennelli will all cycle 7/8 ounce target loads. Not sure om the 11-87 but probably should also. Personally if I were to buy a new shotgun I would really consider going with the Extrema. The new gas system and really cuts the recoil of the heavy waterfowl rounds but still allows you to shoot light loads to practice.

While the 'carbon fibered Benelli' aka 'SuperSport' will fire the 7/8 oz loads, it WILL NOT fire 3 1/2" shells. Most (if not all) of the Benelli target shotguns are strictly 2 3/4-3". Their hunting shotguns are equiped to handle the 3 1/2". The Benelli rep told me that while the 3 1/2" 'May' cycle the ultra light loads, it might not cycle reliably. In all fairness, I think that this could/would be an issue in any auto-loader tho. The Benelli is an outstanding firearm, but you do pay for the quality.
