There is definetly something about a 1911...
I love to shoot my Beretta 96 and Ruger Gp100, but I've been yearning to add to my collection. I can get a deep discount on a Para Ordnance 7-45 LDA Limited ($560), or I can go with a 5" Springfield and pay full retail ($410). I'm all about saving money and I reload for all my calibers, and a .45 wouldn't be too much more to ask. I like the Paras trigger a lot better and being a Limited, its got awesome grips, the Springfields are plastic. I also know that Para has awesome quality and is a premium pistol. Springfields are a bare bones 1911 that just plain work. They also take all the mods that regular 1911 takes. I think I'm just talking myself into buying both guns. I should jump on the Para, its $150 more, but I'd drop that in a heartbeat paying a gunsmith to bring the Springfield up to half what the Para is... I suppose I just answered my own question... oh well...
