I am a new police officer and am interested in purchasing a concealed weapon to carry off duty. I am leaning towards the kimber ultra carry but would be open to different opinions on various weapons. Also if anyone has experience with the Kimbers please share it with me.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Started out carrying my duty weapon as my off duty peice, then went to a Model 1911 when I went to a 6" model 57 S&W for duty use. When the department went to the beretta 92, I carried a S&W Model 59, then a CZ 75, now I carry a Model CZ 2075 in .40 S&W or my AMT Back-Up in .40 S&W as a CCW carry gun. Small, Light, and with enough power to get the job done.

Find a firearm that fits your hand comfortably, and the sights line up when presented to the target, Make sure that you can qualify with it,Then make sure that your Chief will give his approval.

I've only fired the full size Kimbers, and was quite pleased with their reliability, based on that impression, I don't think you could go wrong with your choice of the ultra carry.
