I won't get to go out until this weekend, but hey that is only 2 days away.

Oh BTW if you haven't gotten a TX hunting license and you don't get the supercombo, there are a couple more stamps this year, Migratory game birds - dove, duck, geese, sandhill crane, etc. and an upland game bird stamp for pheasant and quail. This affected me because I usually hunt dove and quail, both you used to not need a stamp for. This year my fiancee and I got supercombos, I know its the way to go, but remember I am still in school :p

Yessir - Sept 1 used to sound like a banana revolution going on around here with the large numbr of dairy farms and the dove concentrations around them. Been so much development that all that country is housed and paved over now. City limits have been extended out so far there's no place to hunt the birds anywhere close. All cities have rules against shooting within their limits.

My wife feeds most dove residing in the county in our back yard, anyway. :D

Noticed a big drop in the number of white winged dove lately. Either thery're smarter than the mourning dove and rock dove, or they've already started their annual migration back to Mexico. More illegal immigrants!!!! :p

I haven't seen any white-wings where I hunt, but my backyard is full of them. The place I go is 2 hours away, but there is some public land that is about 30-45 minutes away, of course I'd need a public land permit, and it is usually the land farmers can't do anything with and the hunting is no good, so they donate it for the public land hunting in TX and probably get HUGE tax benefits.
