I'm looking for good loads for the 500 S&W using 350 gr bullets or the 375 gr. Barnes XPB. I know of the Hodgdon data and I have W296, V110, and Lil'Gun powders. Also, has anyone chronographed their 500 S&W with the 4" barrel? How much loss of velocity compared to the 8.5" barrel version?

There's a couple of old threads that had some data on the velocity.

I'm not sure if anyone has more current info or not. I hope they post here if they do.

I cast my own bullets for my 500's generally and I am currently using bullets in the 500+ gr. category. But even when using lighter bullets I have had some good success using Hogdon 4227 and Accurate #9.
