Had a great hunt on Kodiak for goats this year. Flew out with Seahawk and had great service from Roland and the gang. Got weathered in for 2 1/2 days but finally got out and got these goats. Cost between my partner and I was around $1000 each for transportation from Anchorage to Kodiak then charter to hunt area. Definitely do it again if I draw out. Alyeska will try to help me post the pics.

Thanks, I always wanted a goat so it was a dream come true. Just wanted to share the experience with everyone on here. I know I always enjoy looking at everyone else's pics.

I think those are the brightest white goats I've ever seen! The ones down here in S. Idaho always seem to have a yellowish tint to them. And, that's the most blue cloudless sky I've ever seen over Kodiak!
Good pics, and congrats.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing about those blue skies. Every time I've been to Kodiak it's been raining and blowing and just plain nasty! I've always gone around Thanksgiving time though and the deer hunting has been unbelievable. That first photo is beautiful!

I've only been to Kodiak twice, and both times it was quite windy, and rainy most of the time. I've heard that the bears on Kodiak associate gunshots with dinner bells and the blacktail hunters better get their kills out quickly!

The dinner bell stories are true. We've also lost a couple bucks, to bear, that we had hung about 12 feet up from a tree limb (as high as we could get it up in the area we hunted). I've always tried to be an extra curtious hunter when hunting Kodiak, by flagging my gut piles with red survey tape. Waltzing into some else's gut pile is a really bad deal!

The blue sky is deceiving. I couldn't get out to take pictures when it was pouring and blowing :). The goats were whiter than I thought, too. The bear hunt is coming in late Oct. Still need another guy to share the expenses. Anyone here interested in a deer hunting trip on Kodiak? Maybe a nice Sitka blacktail to complete their deer slam?3 deer limit. Shoot me a private message if you're interested.

You are one courteous hunter! I'm glad I don't have to worry about that here, although rumor has it that I may soon have to, if the grizzlies aren't already here. "Standing guard" would take on a whole new meaning. The elk bow hunters have reported in the last few years that the wolves are coming into cow calls.
