I just recently aquired a 37 Ithica featherlight with an 18" barrel, rifle sights, and a full choke. The barrel length and sights seem to be factory. Overall condition is good, no rust, but some blueing has seen better days. This is the question, if this is a factory Ithica, how rare of an item is this? Did Ithica make millions of these short light pumps? Also it does have roll ingraving on the receiver of ducks on both side. If you have any info pls help me out on this one, thanks

Your Ithaca Model 37 may have the serial number on the side of the receiver and have an oblong triggerguard. Then it was made after about 1970 and will accept interchangeable barrels. If the serial number is on the front of the receiver and on the barrel and has a rounded triggerguard, it is and older model with a fitted barrel.

You may have a Deerslayer model and Ithaca made a bunch of them. On the other hand, someone may have shortened the barrel or installed a shorter one. In either case, it does not appear to be a rare item. All the best...

humm, the barrel is fitted. So that would make it an older one. Was something like that used as a cop gun? The serial match on both gun and barrel but the barrel has a dash and an additional number. serial is 692xxx
