I have a pistol I would like to raffle and generate funds for Katrina victims relief. Before I start, does anyone know of any legal encumbrances to this? I ASSUME tha as long as legal requirements, permits, registrations etc, that this would be do-able. This is S&W model 41 that I belive is 1975 mfg. and is New In Box, never fired. I certainly haven't had the yen to shoot is in the past 5 years, So why not apply it to a worth cause. (A friends son in law is on site there and says they need all kinds of help down there, sent laundry list cause "if you ain't on TV you don't get help!")
Anyway lookin for advice from everyone on this issue

Thanks to all

Rather than delete this thread, I'll lock it so others may see, but not comment on.

As a policy, we do not allow raffles to be conducted on the board or condone references to them.

I'd sugget just listing it on Gunbroker, et al. If it's unfired, etc., you'll likely do the most good, where the collectors can see it.
