Does anyone still use them in the gamefields anymore?
As pheasant season is getting ever closer here, I got mine out for a lookover. I think I am "good to go".
I don't hear much about them anymore. When I see them in the used rack, they command a premium price even in poor condition.
I have always enjoyed the performance and handling of mine in the field. I do not shoot trap or skeet. I know that they were once very popular there.
I open this thread to all views on the matter.

I've used one since '74. Recently passed it down to youngest son. He has used it for everything except turkey hunting for the last two years. Good shotgun. Far better, IMO, than my new Browning Gold.

Well Fullchoke, this post has been out over a week now.
Tell your yougest to take good care of that gun. It would apear that there are only two of them out there. And I have the other one.

It seems you may be correct  I've been watching this thread myself and am somewhat surprised that more haven't posted. The SuperX 1 is a quality steel firearm. I think we would see a lot more of them if Remington had not introduced the 1100 about the same time for less money. I have never owned a Remington shotgun, but they must be fairly good guns.

I would take that a step further Fullchoke. I think it is in the "top five" of the best autoloaders ever made.
Several years ago I voiced to my hunting buds that I was thinking to retire my SX-1. That Christmas my good wife presented me with a Remington 1100. Nice gun. I can't do it. I still carry the SX-1.
Regards to you and yours,

Old post+ New Members= the same question? I was just giving mine some TLC. The 1100 is "up" next for the same treatment. I must maintain them all. Fun too do so!
Browning A-5 is cool!
Winchester model 12 is cool!
Remington 1100 is cool!
Winchester Super-X #1 is my favorite. :) I want to pass this one down to my kids! It is field grade. 30 inch tube, full choke.
