Well the hunting season is started here in my area, bear, grouse and most small game are open and early rifle is only a month off. I've been out scouting the local deer in my area and the turn out is real good. I went 2 weeks ago up to one of my tree stands on the alfa field and sat for 2 hours early in the AM and counted 16 deer on the field. They where mostly whitetail and a few mule deer. I saw 4 whitetail bucks 1 5x5, 2 4x4 and a 2x2 and 1 4x4 mule deer. The rest where does and 3 fawns and last week I went back up and saw 5 deer on the field in 30 minutes time and 2 of those where bucks. I think this year will be a great season with a mild winter last year and and lots of feed this year and a pretty easy summer the deer are really growing in size and numbers. I'll take vacation the last week of late rifle as that is right in the rut here and ratteling and a doe bleat work well then. I'll use my new 45 colt bisley hunter this year for something different my first time deer hunting with it. Hope all of of you have a great season this year and look forward to hearing you tails.
