I have a 870 wingmaster 12 gauge 2 3/4 in. Want to buy a slug barrel for it. Will a barrel that shoots 2 3/4 and 3in work on that reciver, or is the reciver different for 3in barrels? This shot gun was bought new in 1976 with the nice wood in 2 3/4 inch. Thanks.

Yes, the receiver is different on the 3" models, but the 3" barrel will work on your 2-3/4" receiver.
