With any luck, I will be granted a permit in the next month or two.
I am close to narrowing my choice and I've been closing in on the P226 in DAO with the DAK trigger system.
I was hoping to get some user info on this model. Anybody shoot one?

Thanks for your help

I have shot a P226DAK before, I forget the caliber, 9mm I think, but could have been a 40S&W. Either way the DAK is a nice trigger (6.5# - I think), it is really smooth and consistent, however, it is really long. You know you are pulling the trigger back when you pull. For a carry gun, this is a good idea so you don't have any NDs. Personally, I have a DA/SA P226 9mm, and it is really nice as well, but the DA is not as nice as the DAK. My fiancee didn't like the fact that, she could see the hammer pull back along with the trigger (she shoots our Sigs in SA mode usually so the hammer is already back). A DAK gun is on my list, but will have to wait until after I graduate.

One thing I've heard about the DAK is, if you pull the trigger back and some how does not manage to fire a round, the next trigger pull will be the DA trigger 10.5# (I think) and sloppy (I used the word sloppy in comparison to the DAK trigger, it still isn't bad), because it did not get reset by the slide racking.

You won't be disappointed, that's for sure.

I just started carrying a 226 DAK in 357SIG on duty.
The trigger is very smooth and controlable. Much like a very nicely tuned revolver. The difference between the trigger pulls with the hammer at full rest or partially cocked is minimal. It is definitely not 10 lbs and sloppy!

I was a little skeptical before trying the DAK but I am sold on it now. I think it's a darn near perfect combat weapon.
