I got to use my new Lee FCD this past weekend. I ordered them from Midway for everything I shoot. They are slick. Though I love Hornady dies, I'm not impressed with their crimp. I crimp as a separate step. Anyway I loaded up 500 rounds of 45 LC for my son last weekend with 7.8 grains HP38, with a 200 grain Lasercast LRNFP. They have a nice crimp grove in the bullet. The Lee FCD did a perfect job on them. These loads look better than any factory ammo I ever bought.
I hear more and more good things about Lee all the time. I'll admit I'm not to impressed with their low end presses but their big cast iron one looks nice. If I was just starting out in reloading I would go the Lee route. Their stuff is half the price of the GREEN and other RED stuff.
I'm done reloading unitl spring. I racked up almost 6000 rounds of various pistol and rifle ammo the past 3 weeks, this was all done on a single stage press and my arm is toast. I usually wait and do this on cold winter days during a football game. Nothing more relaxing than sitting at the bench with a good game on and a nice cup of coffee. Now I won't know what to do this winter. I won't let the wife know, or she will have plenty for me to do.

Congratulations rrush
I have been using the Lee factory crimp die for both my 30-30 and 308 Winchester. They are great. I like Lee products. I recently gave my Rock Chucker Press to my best friend as his RCBS Partner press was about 20 years old and was rusting from sitting in his barn. He had given me a 30-30 Winchester rifle earlier this year as a gift and I wanted to give him something that he really needed. I enjoyed giving it to him. It was an outstanding press but my best friend is even better. As it is, I am left to my Lee hand press. I have used it off and on for about 10 years and it has made some great ammo. Still, I want a bench mounted Press. Being low on cash, and a daughter in Collage, I bought a new Challenger press from F&M Reloading. I am sure it will do just fine for my needs. If it works out, why get another press :D
Ranch Dog, I think I am changing the color of my bench also. I see more Red and I feel good about it after returning from the range.

I use the Lee FCD for all of my cal's except the 45 acp & 9mm. I use their 4 hole turret press for pistols, and it works great. I do not care for their other dies and have begun to replace them that I have with RCBS.
My long gun's are reloaded with the trusty " Rock Chucker" about 35 yro. I would have went to the RCBS turret press to upgrade the chucker, Hornady came out with the lock n load conversion that works fine and save $$

Well rrush I started with the factory Lee Crimp die with the 38 Spl.
Then on with the 44 Mag .
Then I found that the die also improved the groups on the 45/70. Got one for all rifles and hand guns.
Now Lee does not show a crimp die for all. But they will make you one cheap.
That's how I got one for the 358W

I've been using one of the little Lee O framed presses for quite a while now. I'll tell you how impressed I am with it. I load 8mm Rem Mag with it and have never had a problem. I started out with a Rockchucker and it ended up in a yard sale.
I still have an RCBS powder measure along with a Redding powder measure on the bench, but the Lee perfect is more accurate and gets used about 95 percent of the time. One of the best moves I made was going red.
My hunting partner has all RCBS and just bought a Lee Turret press. Now each calibre he reloads is set up in it's own turret and all he does is slip the turret into the press and every die is set up ready to go. He took the auto turn off and does all his reloading one step at a time.
This is my bench and my granddaughters putting 44 magnum rounds togather. By the way the hat says "Worlds Greatest Grandpa"
