How's this for performance? Expansion averages .320" with 100% weight retention. Great penetration and super terminal performance. This from standard velocity loads, pic happens to be Remington but got the same results with other brands of regular and bulk ammo. Accuracy & POI unchaged following my minor modification. Took a lot of trying to come up with this one.

That is a very classic "mushroom" you recovered there. What did you shoot it at for recovery? I remember finding one that I shot into very soft mudd years ago that looked pretty similar. I never have been able to get one to do that in water filled jugs though. Kinda fun trying though.

Sorry, forgot to say I shot them into a 4" PVC pipe filled with water for the break. Usually test in soaking wet news print which comes close to ballistics gel/simulated tissue and is a whole lot cheaper.
The bullet on the left was an un-modified also fired into the water break, note that it's almost good enough to re-use....

I made a tool that cuts a just a little off the top and leaves the meplat just slightly concave but it's not as simple as it sounds. The exact shape is the secret to making it work. I went through dozens of designs till I found the winning combo. You'd be surprised at just how a little change can really screw things up and how some changes do nothing worth while.
I used to hunt woodchucks with 22rf's and used the old win. dyna points made back in the 70's when they came out ! They and the hollow points also mushroomed ,but still weren't good one shot killers or didn't kill as quick as a 32 cal ! JAGG

Wow, I remember Dyna point's...lost a few chucks to them myself! Upgraded to the .222 Rem. and found out quickly you're limited only to head shots on anything you plan on eating. Got some of these sent off to a friend up in yankee land to try on chucks so hopefully get some field testing feedback shortly.
