You sure you don't have a model '92?
Winchester hasn't produced the '94 in stainless.

Not positive, but that gun looks like it has been plated...electroless nickeled is my guess. I agree...there has never been a SS model 94.

Pretty slick looking package, and you're right they did a great job from the looks of things. I agree, it must be an electroless nickel finish.

Wow, for what you paid you scored big! Congratulations. The next test is.... how does she shoot?

God bless,

I'm guessin'...and it's only cause the small pics don't help my old eyes, that perhaps it is not a nickel, but a brushed hard-chrome that someone had applied. Just makes more sence for the woods.

About 4 years ago, a friend bought a Trapper in 44 Mag. All the metal parts were Chrome. I purchchased a 94 Black Shadow(30-30) in which all metal parts were chrome. The box end flap called it "Brushed Chrome". I called Winchester and was advised both were made for the 1999 Shot Show.I was advised that less than 500 were made on mine. Byron

Yep, Winchester has never, as of yet, offered the '94 in stainless steel.

sounds to me like a special production run, I know one of the gun distributors here in PA has rem make a run of 7600's in 35 Whelen every year
