I was over at Taurus's website and saw their new 4410 Tracker. Here's a link: http://www.taurususa.com/products/product-details.cfm?model=4410TrackerSS&category=Revolver

It's a revolver that will accecpt the .410 shotgun shell, .45 Colt, and .44-40 - all in the same gun!

I think it's a novel idea, but I wonder how it can be chambered for both the .45 Colt and the .44-40 when their case dimensions are so different. Also, I wonder how the .410 would perform with such a short barrel.

I just found this interesting so I thought I'd throw it out there and see what others think.

This is what Taurus says:

A 410 Revolver that also shoots a .44-40 rifle cartridge and the venerable .45 LC. Specially designed frame with elongated cylinder to accommodate all these various shells. So grab a case of 410's and head for the clay bird range. You'll find yourself hitting aerial targets like Annie Oakley. Then head for the steel plate range and practice your cowboy routine with the .45 LC. Then to the rifle range to test the 44-40. All in one afternoon with one Taurus 44 TEN! And remember... It's not a bad snake gun, bird dog training gun and handy to have around for other pesky varmints.

I have a Taurus stainless Tracker in 41 mag and It's a nice gun and is accurate. One thing for sure those 45's got to go a long way before they hit the throat, I'm not sure that's going to inhance accuracy.

I think it'd be a heck of a defensive piece. Would be a cool hunting gun too. I plan to get one of the snub nosed ones and one of the long berreled ones.
