I've acquired a side by side 410 Ga. made by Springfield Arms Company of Chicopee Falls, Mass. Unable to locate a serial number as of yet.
I was hoping a reader might know something about this company and their firearms?

Away from my refernce books, but Stevens is the maker...or Savage-Stevens, depending on when it was made. For a time, Stevens' "low price" brand was marked Springfield, but the parts should be the same. Were some model variations, but these Savage / Stevens / Savage-Stevens / Springfield / (and a bunch of house brand names) were pretty popular shotguns.
Would have to compare it to a diagram or two to see which model yours is....but it's a solid basic design (used a 20ga. Savage 311 for a lot of years).
Before 1968, serial numbers were not required and many inexpensive 22RF's and shotguns didn't have one until the 1968 laws wee passed. So we can safely assume the shotgun is older then 1968...and from the "springfield" name, proably after 1945.
