Trying to help a friend ID a Winchester 94. From what I have been told it has a gold trigger and is a commerative issue in 30-30 and is a carbine. Has the cross-bolt safety. I know this isn't much to go on, but I haven't found anything in my reference books.

Saw several pictures of the 94 today. It is a plain straight stock and appears to be in excellent condition. Don't have the serial number until tomorrow. The catch is, a gold trigger. Is this standard on 94AE?
I don't think it should be worth more than $300. What is everyone's opinion?

I am not the Winchester Authority here, but no doubt some will chime in. I remember seeing those Golden Triggers on Winchester's..perhaps mid/late 90's through early 00's. Not sure, but that is when I remember them. I have a Winchester Shotgun from the 70's that has a Gold trigger(looks like gold colored aluminum). Anyway...wish I could be of more help. Doesn't matter...should be a good shooter, Gold Trigger or no. You could always swap out the trigger if you find it hideous :D
