I haven't had any problems with the CCI Mini-Mag HP for squirrels....

Mini-Mag? Sure but not for plinking. I would say mini-mag is the best if you can afford it. I use Remington plated hollow points for plinking and my 10/22 seems to like it. I think they are called "golden bullets". Very cheap, 8 or 10 bucks for 525.

I also use CCi, for all my shooting, For real cheap ammo I have used Winchester Wildcats with success. Cheap ammo isn't as accurate in my rifles. JP

Usually end up shooting for fun with the sporting rifles with match ammo that didn't work out as well as I wanted it to in the target guns....sometimes i hunt with it, but solid bullets are not my usual first choice.
Prefer HP .22LR ammo for hunting...not the hyper-Ve;. stuff as i do like to eat what i shoot. Solids will work with good placement; I still try for the same placement with HP's but find when one slips a bit off the mark, the HP does a bettter job of collecting the critter.
Guns are indivual. Main hunting rifles haven't show an liking for Rem. products ir for Winchester....CCI is the usual stuff bought just for hunting.

aguila, period. they are CHEAP, the red box and the green box are very accurate, they never have fliers, never misfire, and did i say cheap? also i have just found an aguila in a canary box, ( i think they just started putting it out) also very good. if you want the top in accuracy, proven performance with years of olympics to back them up , go to eley. they are more money for their lowest end brand , eley in the orange box and yellow box, but these two will outshoot any thing else that is mass procuced period. Even my Aguilas.

let me add one more thoughrt here, cci makes a round called the sgb. stands for small game bullet, from what i understand, they don't make this round any more. I just found 7 boxes of this stuff at a Gander mt. store here in houston. it is a little more expensive, but if you find them , buy them all! what these rounds are designed to do , once they penetrate about 1 to 2 inches, they break apart into three perfect even size pieces. the results are devestating, as you could imagine.

I just tried some CCI HP Subsonic.
hollow point 40 gr lead.
they chrono at 1025 out of my Savage Mk2
good accuracy at 50 yards.
and they hit wit authority. I got 4 pidgeons yesterday in my backyard with them, no fluttering around, just whomp/drop.
I'm very pleased with them, reasonable quiet also.

Winchester Power Points are have good velocity, a 40 grain bullet with a very large hollow point, and they are deadly accurate in my Walther, Sako, and Springfield M6 Scout .22s. They are reasonably priced. I shoot alot of gophers, and this is very good gopher ammo.

Here should U be careful, I did buy the cheap CCI standard and used them in my Ruger 10/22... I shoot 1-2mag then the gun fly out of my hand, I pick the gun and could see the stock was broken, the mag. had exploded, and even more had broken.... On my hand I have gloves, that was lucky. The gloves was burned......
Now I use Laupa 22lr ammo or Federal. / MrHunter

Most accurate in all my .22's are the Remington HV long rifle HP's.
