Remington XR-100...Weaver T36...Warne M970M one piece base.
Can anyone tell me lowest height Warne rings compatible with this setup. Local rifle shop does not have Warne rings in stock and I will have to order them.

Welcome to the forum. As for your scope/rifle/rings combo give Brownell's tech section an email, they can tell you exactly the ring hight you will need. Their site is located at.

That's going to make quite a combo when you get it togather. What tyoe of shooting are you going to do with it?

Hi faucettb
Thanks for reply. Yeah I'm looking forward to it coming together. I mostly shoot offhand with an
Anschütz 54.18. Looking to do some informal benchrest & the price was good on gun & scope a good combination to learn on. Scope power is high but my eyes are getting older and 20X works well on the Leupold on my Annie - so I'll give this a try. Also looking forward to reloading the .223 cartridges. My reloading experience is with pistol calibre - .45 colt.

Boy I can equate with the eyes getting older stuff. If it wasn't for scopes I'd be up a creek. I bought a muzzle loader a few years ago and here in Idaho you have to used open sights on it. I put a set of fire sights on and now can see to shoot a hundred yards or a little better.
That XR-100 should make an excellent informal bench gun and the scope is ok for that also. Loading the .223 is a snap.
You might want to look into Lee's collet sizer die. Once the case has been fired in your rifle the collet die neck sizes only adding a bunch to the case life and usually making a more accurate loading at the same time. The big plus is you don't have to lube the cases prior to sizing. (rifle cases need lubed when full length sizing)
I've been using them several years in my .243's and am very happy with them.
Let me know what kind of groups you get when you start shooting that outfit.
