Well
I don’t know if this has been done here or not. I did a search on reloading bench pics and nothing came up. I thought I would post my little loading bench area. This is fun. I have seen reloading bench pics on other boards and I get some really good ideas from some. I don’t have a lot of room and I did put together a portable load kit that I posted on this forum. I just had to get back to a bench though. The lyman Acculine trimmer is a new addition. I do however like the Lee case trimmers also.
I had an RCBS Rockchucker I gave to my best friend who was in need of a press. I bought the Lee Challenger press to replace it with. Although it is not as refined as the Rock Chucker, I makes great ammo. My groups have not changed at all. Enough said. Here is my load bench. How about your ?

Well ok 30-30 here is a pix of mine. I've been using Lee stuff for quite a while. Used to have nothing but RCBS and worked down at Phoenix for a year and lived in a camp trailer. I wanted to shoot my 44 and mabbe chase some yotes with the 22-250 so I bought one of the Lee anniversery kits from Cabale's for $70.00.
I though what the heck, it should get me thru til I can get home and unpack my good stuff. I load rifle, pistol, shotgun and cast bullets for all the revolvers.
Well most of my "good stuff" ended up in a yard sale and the "cheap" Anniversery kit is still bolted to the bench. Go figure.

Hey faucettb
Is that what I think I see ? Two girls helping out with the reloading chores. Man you are blessed. I wish my two girls wanted to learn to load. My two girls are a bit older then yours but they both like to shoot. My seventeen year old has a Marlin 22, and Marlin 336 30-30. My oldest daughter likes to plunk at targets when she comes to visit me from collage. They both know about gun safety as they both took the hunter safety course. I believe they will make fine wives to some lucky guy. Great pics also.
For Ranch Dog.
Nice set up. You are the one who got me real interested in checking out Lee products. I read your posts and enjoy them much.

The girls started shooting when they were 6 and 7, now at 11 and 12 they both can outshoot me with a revolver. Both have passed their hunter safety course and the oldest can and will hunt deer this year. She has confiscated my Ruger #1 in 243.
both are profecient at the loading bench and can talk ballistics and calibers pretty well. Last year the oldest got a new Remington 870 youth 20 gauge for christmas. The youngest got a Remington model seven in 308. Her first deer season will be next year and she is learning to shoot her new rifle. Both shoot about a brick a month of 22 lr.
I know there gonna give a lot of boys a run for their money when it comes time to go shooting.

This is the bench I used before I moved to OH from FL. I haven't had a chance to set up in the new digs but it may not end up the same as shown. I have a few choices.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/GuideGun/Reloading_Bench.jpg
A) We are going to remodel the kitchen and I could use all the cabinets and counter tops in the reloading room. Nothing at all wrong with them, they're solid oak, but the wife wants hickory.
B) I have a very large desk that is something of an outcast in the new house. My wife is strongly encouraging me to get rid of it so it is a candidate reloader bench. It's conventional desk height.
C) I have a dark stained maple dresser that is also an outcast that would make a nice loading bench. It's tall enough to stand at or sit on a bar stool.
D) I have a large armoir that I've been considering outfitting a reloading station into. It closes up like an entertainment center.
As soon as the barn is finished I'll get the workshop back and set up to reload again. Not only do I have shooters withdrawl, I haven't pulled a reloading press handle in 4 months. I miss brass therapy.

Herez the top half of my bench. I just built that upright part, and it's not fully populated yet. It works pretty well.

I went to the Home Depot and just purchased the cheapest set of cabinets they sold. I believe the benchtop/undercabinet and the two white hangers cost a whopping 100 bucks...The elevated lip on the countertop is nice cause nothing can roll off.
the middle oak hanger I gargage picked from a demolition site.
I set up My Lee 1000 pistol setup on one end, and their single stage press on the other.
Powder is stored in the bottom cabinet, inside 50cal ammo cans.
As seen, Marshall's bullets are plentiful in his "signature" white boxes:D

Now I have been truly shamed. Nice set up JayB.
Thank you sir. You should see the set-up my friend has. He's been looking over my shoulder so I don't blow myself up. He has a separate building with a lathe, mill, forge, and 6 presses set up all the time, plus another handful of presses hanging on the wall.
That's a nice reloading setup jayb. It seems like keeping your rifles in those plastic bags would lead to condensation, moisture and then to rusting.
KenK. you would be correct except that they aren't in "bags"....... The plastic was originally bags, but I cut the bottom and one end open so that the plastic only prevents dust from gathering on the rifles. Like an umbrella for dust. ;)

This post was started on 10-15-2005 and here it is darn near 2008. Since then the grand daughters have helped me remodel my loading bench and I suspect it's time to post some new pix of it.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q172/faucettb/Reloading/ReloadingbenchRemodel-40.jpg
We moved the powder measure's from off the bench and made a bracket to hang them from the shelf giving us a bunch more bench space.

My old shooting partner brought down his electronic powder dispenser and scale and put a brand new RCBS case prep center beside it. He and I do most of his reloading down at my place.

I do almost all of my work on a folding TV tray table (like those that come in a set of four. . . ) I use a Lee Hand Press and sit in my leather recliner in our den. I keep one Lee Classic press mounted for heavy work on an old picnic table but use it only for bullet sizing/seating gas checks. My normal production run for an evening is never more than 100 bullets. I do it while I watch TV and enjoy myself.
I've taken my Lee hand press with me on vacation before.
This is my "bench". I have another just like it on the opposite wall with my lubrisizer mounted.

That’s a Ponsness-Warren Metallic II press on an old dresser that’s been lag-screwed to the wall and it contains dies, powder measure, all the misc. reloading stuff. Powder is in the walk-in closet, primers and bullets in the old stereo cabinet.

My table started out with those horrible metal picnic table legs and every time you were knocking primers out and have to give a little jerk every thing on the table tipped over and after loosing the powder trickle too the floor I had enough and this morning after 6 yrs of dealing with it built legs and raised it about 3inchs and built pockets inside the legs and bolted it too the floor and wall. I will be adding selfs in the coming months but for now its great to not have it wobbly.

So I finished up my 3rd and hopefully final bench. It's just over 6'X3' and heavier than it looks. Under the ply wood top is 2- 2X4 length wise stacked so basicaly 4X4's then 4- 2X4 stacked width wise. I lift the underneth shelf short so I could put my tumbler and seperater under the bench (as you can see that didn't happen. But I set the shelf low enough and back just far enough that I could use it as a foot rest and also be able to set my bullets and manual on for quick and ease of use. Am going to put a couple of u-bolts through the bottom shelf face with a 20 oz pop (coke) bottle lid. Drill a hole in the lid and run my deprimer tubs down into it.
Also plan on a couple more of the architect lights (which I have put halogen lights in) on the cabinet and shelves on the end of the bench (never to much light).

Nice, is that a Big Boss II on the bench? How do you like it? I like your brass storage method, tubs, mine are in zip-lock baggies. They stay sorted but can get kicked around a bit if not careful. A premonition.......I see some tubs in my future. Wish I could see the winning lottey ticket just as easily.

Yep! BBII love it. has more leverage than some of the other presses that I used. My 4yr old daughter can resize mag rifle brass on it but just hung off a couple others presses. I like the primer disposal thru the bottom. and also us the slide bar primer system on it, just about retired my RCBS hand primer.
The tubs are just rubbermaid tubs from wal-mart the smaller ones you can get fo .99c for 2 so every time I go to town with my wife a couple of pack mysteriously appear in the basket.
Then I use one of those little electronic tag printers that print on tape strioes to mark them. that way I just peel the one of that say 22-250 NS X1 and put 22-250 X2. 1st tag was once fired neck sized then the 2nd tag was twice fired nothing done.
I used zip locks for a while til one day in the slushy snow I had 2 bags of 1000 each brass laid on my arms cause I had bullets in the other hand. Well one of the bags pop open and the brass was just like sand and out they ran into the muddy slushy snow. Needless to say but I had a few choice words about those ziplocks.

flashhole I see you have a couple of the ultramag's. That was one of the presses that I was looking thiinking of other than the BBII. So I called Redding and talked to them for a while really good people. He told me that he had the ultra set up right there in his office but recommended the BBII over it. He didn't give much details as to why but said that for the size difference that the BBII has planty of leverage. I'm still thinking about buying one anyhow.

The Ultramag is great too. I like all the Redding presses with a center primer drop. I keep watching for a good deal on eBay for a BBII but they don't come up for sale too often. I had one of the Redding 6-station turrets but couldn't warm up to the tilt so I sold it and picked up a second Ultramag. No complaints about my ammo at all, I load, 45-70, 7RM, 25-06, 243, and 221 Fireball. Quite a variety in size but everything comes out great. Would like to add a T-7 but don't need it.

Yea when I first was looking I tried to find them used. A day or 2 after I ordered it one came up on e-bay. I watched it and it went for more than I paid for mine (less than a dollar but it was more).
I have thrown the thought around adout a T-7 but IMO it's between the Single stage and a progressive and I already have those so it's a hard one to justify.

I know what you mean, some of the bids on eBay for used equipment are absolutely nuts. I picked up my Ultramag(s) for $125 and $140 and that included shipping and I bought them within a month of one another. You just have to be patient. I've done just about my entire set up from eBay. I bought and sold a Rock Chucker, and a Co-Ax and and got more than I paid in both transactions.
Jager, what's that beast on the right side of your bench? Looks like a progressive pistol cartridge set up but whose? Don't say mine. :) Dillon XL650?

Well after 3 years of Reloading in my shed, and breathing kerosene heater fumes, I finally got my own space INSIDE (the basement mind you) but the improvement is wonderful.
I purchased 3 metal locking cabinets from Lowes (Whirpool Brand) 2 wall and 1 base, and the rest is fabricated from 2x6 SPF and 3/4" plywood, then painted to match the metal cabinets and hopefully make it tollerable for my lovely bride of 28 years.
