I'm looking at installing the Williams FP-94SE on a couple of new Model 94s (a 16" Trapper in .45 Colt and a 24" Legacy in .30-30).

The receiver sight is easy enough, but I'm wondering about the front sight. Williams' 2005 PDF catalog, on the last page, lists the 312M and 375M front sights for these two rifles. But, on page 6 of that catalog, they say the 'M' series is for factory ramps. Neither of these two rifles have ramps - the front sights are dovetailed directly into the barrel. The catalog says that the 'W' series is for dovetailed barrels.

Has anyone here installed these sights on a new-ish Model 94 with a dovetailed barrel, perhaps these particular models? Which front sight did you use (style and height)?

Thanks,
-Don

I called Williams and asked them...

The 'M' parts listed in at the back of the catalog, and included with their "Fire Sight Peep Sets", are for factory ramps. To get the 'W' parts for dovetailed barrels you buy the bead and receiver sight separately.

For anyone else that may be considering these these: I ended up with the FP-94SE-TK receiver sights and the 538W front beads (plus the blanks for the old rear sights).
