Quick and Easy question guys:

Which one would you put on your .22

VX-II 3-9x33mm:

-Rimfire EFR
-Fine Duplex
-Matte Black
-$353.00

OR

VX-II 3-9x40mm:

-Post and Duplex (what im really lookin' for)
-Matte Black
-$359.99

OR

VX-II 3-9x33mm

-Ultralite EFR
-Duplex
-Gloss Black
-$353.00

If the EFR scope came with a post & duplex reticle the answer would be easy to choose from, but sadly, it doesn't. If im tryin to hit squirrels from 75-100 yards which one would you recommend?

Thanks all...... and it's nice to be back ^_^

The Leupold Post/Duplex reticle is a "heavy" reticle ... not one you'd want for target shooting. It's a great, low light, big game reticle ... but not one you'd like for your application.

For what you describe, I'd go with your #2 option, but get the normal duplex. This will do everything and more for what you want to do with this rifle/scope combo. Another reason to go with this option is that it's not a rimfire specific scope ... you can move it around, if necessary, or sell it quite easily (at least more easily than the rimfire version, or even the ultralight) ... simply because it's features are the most common in the world of variable scopes.

Just get a VX-II, 3-9x40mm, matte/duplex and never look back ... you will be most happy w/ that option.

Normal duplex, but at all costs, you need the adjustable objective. Otherwise you'll get a headache at the higher powers.

For my fixed-power .22 scopes, I send them back to Leupold to have the focus set to 50 yards (make them parallax-free at that range).

I put a 4x12 AO on a CZ 452, and it sure is fun at the range!
